Ekaterina was born and grew up in Moscow. She works with WWF-Russia to improve the legal provision for biodiversity and protected areas, on legislation on EIA and public participation in environmental decision making and the development of a legal framework for marine spatial planning in Russia.
Before joining WWF, Ekaterina worked for environmental NGOs as a lawyer for almost 20 years. Ekaterina has wide experience in litigation for protection of environmental citizens’ rights, public participation in environmental decision making, law drafting and researches. She has worked on Indigenous peoples' rights.
She holds a PhD in Environmental Law.
I hope that my work on governance and legislation issues will help to keep the fragile Arctic ecosystem clean and healthy for all people on the Planet, but foremost for those living in the Arctic.
