Senior specialist, Arctic marine conservation
Martine Giangioppi has travelled the world and worked and lived with Indigenous people in Australia, New Brunswick, Quebec (including Nunavik) and Nunavut. Martine worked as an oceans advisor for Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) for fifteen years during which time she helped to develop and implement Canada's Oceans Program, including Integrated Oceans Management (IOM) planning processes and plan development, Marine Protected Area (MPA) identification and establishment and MPA network planning. Martine also worked and lived in Iqaluit, Nunavut for several years where she enhanced her knowledge of the Arctic environment.
She holds a MSc in coastal geomorphology from the University of Moncton, New Brunswick.
